9th Annual Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation Sprint Triathalon
Sep 11, 2010 09:00 AM
Sep 11, 2010 03:00 PM
Beaufort, NC
Check-in begins at 12 pm and the first wave of swimmers will be sent off
from Pivers Island at 1:30 pm . The race takes the same route as last year and
consists of an 800 meter swim to Radio Island, a 6 mile bike around historic
Beaufort, and a 2.5 mile run to the finish line back at Pivers Island. There are
two levels of participation, recreational (a little more fun and relaxed, but
still a timed event) and competitive (really out to win!)
Participants may register as individuals for the entire event, or sign up as part of a two or three person team. A BBQ will take place immediately following the race at the Duke Marine Lab on Pivers Island, with a raffle drawing and prizes for racers, craziest costume, and most environmentally outfitted. The evening BBQ will be free for Triathlon participants and non-participants will have to pay a fee for the BBQ.
