"The Blow-out in Blowing Rock"
Theme: Strengthen the Basics: Prepare for the World 20th Anniversary of EENC
"Rock-tober" 8 - 10, 2010

Tom Shepherd is putting the pieces in place for a rockin’ conference in Blowing Rock! And true to his nature, he has the conference planning well at hand. Here’s the page from his play book.

Vision: Review EE with a quick look back while preparing for the future.
Rock Out!
October 8th

During the day, participants will "take a tour" though EE, beginning the conference on a fieldtrip to experience the origins of EE in nature study, conservation education or ecology education. Option B is to register for a 10-hour workshop. The last option is to participate in the community service project/rain garden workshop.

Friday evening opens with dinner and a panel presentation touching on current happenings in EE. We invite members to speak on the topic's including:

Environmental Education in North Carolina is moving forward quickly:
* New developments in the No Child Left Inside federal legislation,
* Advancement in the North Carolina Environmental Education Certification Program,
* North American Association for Environmental Education's Guidelines  for Excellence in EE programs, materials, and professional  development.
* EENC Strategic Planning.
* Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights.
* And on October 12, 2011, EENC welcomes the world when NAAEE  brings the 40th Annual Conference to Raleigh.

On Saturday, workshops continue and concurrent session will run from 9:00 until 12:30. Lunch will feature our awards presentations.

After lunch, we’ll have some short-but-sweet afternoon field trips.

Everyone will return in time to rest, relax, network, or preview auction items, before the evening dinner, our annula meeting, and guest speaker. We’ll have our raucous live auction to conclude the day.

Sunday’s schedule is light: Breakfast, check-out, one 60 minute presentation, then head for home.
