Tar River Land Conservancy, a land trust based in Louisburg, NC, is offering a 12-week internship during the summer of 2012. Duties of the intern include: Monitoring protected properties; assisting staff with assessments of tracts proposed for protection; assisting in the management of land protection files; and conducting basic GIS analysis and preparing related documents. Experience and skills required include: Commitment to conserving private working landscapes and significant natural resources; completion or progress towards a degree in natural resources management or related discipline; excellent writing and recordkeeping skills, proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS and MS Office programs; and the ability to work in the summer heat and humidity and in rugged conditions. Valid driver’s license and safe record required.

Compensation will be at a rate of $10.50/hr.
