<p>Join an effective organization of conservation professionals and be a part of a
winning team that is greening corporate America. Dogwood Alliance, a nonprofit
organization working to protect forests in the Southern US by building
broad-based, diverse support to end unsustainable forestry practices, seeks a
part-time Donor Relations Coordinator to support its fundraising program. The
Donor Relations Coordinator manages the organization’s database, ensures
accurate and timely record keeping, gift processing and acknowledgements,
produces regular analytical reports to support the organization’s fundraising
planning, and coordinates donor mailings. The Donor Relations Coordinator
reports to the Executive Director and works in the Asheville, NC office.

Primary responsibilities include: <br>
• Update and maintain the
organizational database to industry best practices <br>
• Ensure accurate data
entry, including contact information, pledge records and other relevant
information <br>
• Receive, process and prepare deposit from all donations and
other forms of income <br>
• Track progress towards fundraising goals through
generating weekly reports <br>
• Generate other analytical reports as necessary
to guide fundraising planning and strategy <br>
• Generate timely acknowledgement
letters for all individual gifts received <br>
• Coordinate sending all mailings
and announcements to individual donors and prospects according to fundraising
plan <br>
• Participate in fundraising team meetings <br>
• Ensure organization’s
database best practices manual reflects current understanding of best practices
<br>
• Work with the Associate Director to ensure consistency between database
and accounting <br>
• Process and enter names and information generated by staff,
volunteers and interns into the database <br>
• Support the Executive Director
in meeting fundraising goals. <br><br>
The Donor Relations Coordinator will work part-time at 24 hours a week. <br><br>

• Have at least 1-2 years relevant professional experience related to database management including data entry, analytical report generation and best practices (specific knowledge of SALSA a plus)
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Have some successful nonprofit fundraising experience
• Have excellent planning, time management and writing skills
• Be detail oriented
• Have the ability to work well independently and with a team
• Have a passion for protecting the natural environment
