This position will serve 50% time as executive/administrative assistant to the Director of the office, and 50% time as program assistant to environmental program staff (in either the Climate and Air Quality or Land, Water, Wildlife programs. This position handles sensitive and confidential information and must demonstrate an ability to meet strict deadlines, and have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. ***** Key responsibilities: The Administrative/Program Associate will be responsible for the following and other duties as assigned. • Maintain calendar, schedule and organize meetings and conference calls for the Director and other program staff as appropriate. • Document preparation to include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. • Conduct Internet and library research and analysis on a range of environmental or other issues. • Proofread documents, edit and format documents, letters, and reports. • Photocopy, fax, develop and maintain filing systems. • Manage event planning and meetings for the NC Board of Trustees and other events as needed. Assist with communications and appropriate activities between NC Board of Trustees and the Director. • Provide administrative assistance to the environmental program staff in the Climate & Air or Land, Water, Wildlife Programs. • File expense reports for the Director and other staff as needed. • Act as liaison between all office staff and the Director ensuring that they receive proper attention and response. • Handle confidential and non-routine items. • Various administrative and research tasks as needed. • Oversee environmental program staff compliance with North Carolina lobbying and ethics laws, training provided.
