<p>WakeUP Wake County seeks a part-time Program Coordinator to help organize
community events and assist with administrative responsibilities to help build
membership in a growing, dynamic organization. This is a great opportunity for
someone passionate about local quality of life issues and who wishes to be
engaged in the community. This is currently a one-year part-time (15-20
hours/week) position, with the potential for longer employment, pending funding.
The ideal candidate will be a college graduate interested in public policy
advocacy on growth and development issues, civic engagement and community
organizing, communication technologies, and non-profit work. Strong
organizational and communication skills are required, in addition to basic
commuter skills. Basic accounting skills a plus. <br><br>
Responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include: <br><br>
*Organizing community forums and member meetings;<br>
*Working with volunteers;<br>
*Writing letters and other informational materials as needed;<br>
*Posting content to websites;<br>
*Managing membership and donor information and mailings;<br>
*Assisting treasurer with accounting requirements;<br>
*Staying informed about city, county and state actions on water, transit and public schools;<br>
*Other administrative duties as assigned.</p>

The ability to work independently is important, as Program Coordinator will
need to work from home, but will work with Executive Director, other staff and
volunteers. Coordinator should have access to his/her own computer and email.
