  1. Know where to go: Find your precinct here.
  2. Know when to go: The polls open at 6:30AM and close at 7:30PM. So long as you are in line to vote at 7:30PM, then you must be allowed to wait in line and vote.
  3. Know the candidates: You can get additional voting questions answered and see bios of the candidates running for state office with this non-partisan voter guide.
  4. Know your rights: If you encounter any problems on Election Day, call the Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE. You should also know the "Voter's Bill of Rights" for voters in North Carolina.
  5. Know the ballot: Get a sample ballot by clicking here and go to the link for "General Election Sample Ballots." If you vote a straight party ballot it does not count for the Presidential race or non-partisan races such as for judges. Just remember to vote for President first, then the partisan races, then the non-partisan races. If you have any questions about the ballot or the elections procedures, you can also contact your local board of elections.
