Help Stop Mercury Pollution
Before the end of this year,
North Carolina will be releasing new pollution standards for coal-fired power plants. These standards will decide how much toxic mercury power plants can pour out of their smokestacks and onto North Carolina.
Mercury is harmful to birds, fish, and humans. And almost all the mercury that is polluting North Carolina’s water and air comes from coal-fired power plants. To learn more, click here.
You can count on the NC Conservation Network to be there on the front lines to make sure the state makes the right choice – public health over corporate profits. And we need your help to do it.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 by the end of the year for our campaign to keep mercury out of our air and water. If every member of the Public Alert network gave just $10, we could make that goal.
Please consider giving $10, $100, or $1,000 today:
- make a donation through our secure online site;
- donate by check;
- schedule monthly or quarterly donations through our Sustainers Program; or
- make a donation in honor of a loved one.
Please also tell a friend about our mercury campaign and ask them to take action.
