Responsibilities
A Community Navigator Program will equip and inform NC residents on clean energy resources. This effort uses our established presence across the state to create a sustainable model of community empowerment and access by equipping existing community leaders and residents. Navigators will be expected to host outreach events in their communities and offer one-on-one coaching to help residents apply for specific programs. Public, optional trainings will be hosted for navigators and other interested folks to learn more about each program.
Where You’ll Work
Navigators will be responsible for supporting 2-4 counties, based on regional grouping we’ve developed across the state. These groupings are designed to keep travel manageable and align with current partnerships, connections, and funding providers. However, if you have strong local knowledge or relationships in other counties, we welcome you to propose an alternate grouping and serve in those communities instead.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Outreach: Host or participate in educational events, workshops or office hours to raise awareness of clean energy opportunities in your area.
- One-on-One Support: Assist individuals with identifying relevant clean energy funding and guide them through applications, including printing, mailing, or calling agencies if needed.
- Resource Sharing: Distribute materials (printed and/or digital) and connect residents to verified service providers.
- Community Feedback: Gather community concerns, barriers, and successes to help improve outreach efforts and advocate for improved access.
- Equity Focus: Center the voices and needs of historically underserved, BIPOC, and low-income communities in all outreach and assistance work.
