Alumni of our Campus Fellows Program are doing great work across the state of North Carolina and worldwide. We have chosen only a few of our amazing alumni to spotlight. Find out below what some of the program graduates are up to since completing their time as a Conservation Network Campus Fellow.
Criss Berke
Criss Berke is a graduate of NC State University (Spring 2025) with a Bachelor of Science in Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems. Since graduating, Criss is now working as the Food Systems and Access Assistant at The Bulb, a nonprofit mobile farmers market that provides fresh, nutritious produce to underserved communities in Charlotte, NC.
Shelby Flores
Shelby Flores is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (May of 2024) with majors in Environmental Science and Creative Writing. Shelby is the Southeast Forestry Communications Specialist with the National Wildlife Federation and is also currently working on her first book!
Brianna Howard
Brianna Howard is a graduate of East Carolina University (Spring of 2024) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Upon graduating, Brianna worked as an organizer focused on voter education and environmental justice. She has since joined our team as an Organizer and now gets to help manage the campus fellows. Taleah Pompey
Taleah Pompey graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (May of 2026) with a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science. Since graduating, Taleah has started a role as an Environmental Educator Assistant at McDowell Nature Preserve in Charlotte, NC.
Maryann Sanders
Maryann Sanders is a graduate of Appalachian State University (Spring of 2025) with a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Development. Since graduating, MaryAnn volunteered with the Sierra Club after graduation and is now the full-time Western NC Organizer with the North Carolina Sierra Club.
