Information

We’re returning to Biltmore Hills on Thursday, February 19th to continue restoring the stream corridor! Join us as we remove invasive plant species along the stream to improve habitat, support healthier waterways, and protect the park’s natural landscape.

These events are a great opportunity to:

  • Explore different parts of Raleigh and discover a variety of GSI devices
  • Learn how rain gardens, bioretention systems, wetlands, and more function in the landscape
  • Get hands‑on experience maintaining living stormwater infrastructure
  • Support environmental justice and community‑centered stewardship
  • Meet neighbors, connect with staff, and enjoy meaningful time outdoors

Green Stormwater Infrastructure uses soil, plants, and wetlands to manage and clean stormwater runoff from roads, sidewalks, and rooftops—reducing pollution and mimicking natural hydrology. By volunteering, you’re helping strengthen community-based, environmentally just care for our watershed.
