Information
Join us as we continue to explore the Cape Fear River Basin by boat!
This month we will do an around 5-mile paddle on Rice Creek and Town Creek. We’ll meet at the put-in at Rice Creek Boat Ramp no later than 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th. This paddle is an out-and-back, so no shuttle will be needed.
This month’s paddle will be led by the amazing team at Kayak Carolina, while your Cape Fear Riverkeeper Kemp is out of town for a conference. We are so grateful to Angela Marshall and her crew for stepping up to help keep our paddle series afloat this month!
All paddlers are required to wear a PFD. Other items to remember include sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, snack/lunch and water shoes. If you have an allergy that is severe, remember to bring your epi-pen or medication.
To help CFRW continue to bring you educational programs and events, we ask paddlers bringing their own boats to make at least a $10 donation, either online with your registration or by bringing cash or check to the paddle. Any higher amount is appreciated in support of our efforts. We will also have even more boats available to borrow for this paddle thanks to Kayak Carolina (suggested donation of $25 per boat). If you need help the day of, please call Angela at 910-431-2647. Conditions may change in the period leading up to the paddle. Please check your email the night before and the morning of to ensure that the paddle has not been cancelled.
