Deep River Data wants to power an AI data center by drilling for gas from Butler Well #3 in Lee County. Local officials have said that any major development that wants to use a lot of water is normally annexed by the city. Sanford is considering how they might allow data centers into the city. Its time for a public conversation about whether Sanford wants to welcome data centers (especially with the looming threat of fracking), and what regulations it might have. A moratorium on data centers gives time for public input and transparency! Tell City Council to pass a moratorium on data centers and fracking!
