Information

Haw River Assembly is pleased to host an engaging and informative workshop focused on the Climate Resilience section of the Project WET curriculum. This workshop is designed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively teach climate resilience in a changing world.

The Climate Resilience Lessons of Project WET provide educators with foundational knowledge about climate change, enabling them to confidently address the topic in their classrooms. Through interactive and engaging activities, participants will learn effective ways to communicate the impacts of climate change and inspire youth to become informed stewards of their environment.

Project WET is an interdisciplinary water science and education program for formal and informal educators of K-12 students. It is focused on all things water (physical characteristics, environmental characteristics, social and cultural importance). Experience firsthand the diversity of North Carolina’s water resources and discover new ideas for teaching about water in both the classroom and the field. The Project WET Curriculum & Activity Guide is full of hands-on activities and is correlated to the 2012 North Carolina Essential Standards for Science, Social Studies, and Health Education for Grades K-8 and for High School Earth/Environmental Science and Biology.

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather forecast for that day. Please bring a lunch as we will either be working through lunch or taking a short 30-minute break.
