Information

This hands-on, on-farm workshop will introduce agricultural professionals to the NRCS conservation planning process, from identifying natural resource concerns and producer goals to selecting conservation practices and developing a practical conservation plan. Participants will walk the farm, evaluate natural resource concerns such as soil erosion and organic matter loss, downstream sedimentation and pollution, and inefficient water use, and discuss ways to address resource concerns common in crop and livestock production. The workshop is designed for both professionals interested in becoming NRCS-certified Technical Service Providers and others who want to strengthen their understanding of conservation planning, especially in an organic farming context.
