Description
The Operations Coordinator will play a critical role in assisting the Director of Infrastructure and Development with daily tasks and contributing to the effective internal flow of NCEJN’s operations. The Operations Coordinator will engage in those nonprofit operations functions that support vital environmental justice. The Infrastructure and Development Department ensures the smooth functioning of NCEJN to better support communities and individuals facing environmental injustice. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and Development.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Operational Support (35%)
- Assist the Director of Infrastructure and Development in daily organizational tasks, including document management, filing, and updating organizational records.
- Handle administrative duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and processing payments as directed.
- Support financial operations by tracking routine expenses, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining internal tools and platforms (e.g., Google Drive, GSuite, JotForm, Clover) and supporting basic IT tasks.
Network Group Support (25%)
- Support ongoing network communication and record-keeping with groups, ensuring updated information and engagement.
- Assist with scheduling and logistics for and attend community events and meetings.
- Communicate and maintain records with NCEJN’s fiscal sponsorees, ensuring groups have access to required info, updates and requested resources.
Human Resources and Contractor Coordination (20%)
- Track contractors and process payments.
- Coordinate basic human resources tasks, including maintaining up-to-date contractor files, and supporting onboarding of new contractors.
- Assist in cultivating an inclusive and collaborative organizational culture through operational support and resource management.
Event and Logistics Support (20%)
- Support logistics for NCEJN events, including assisting with venue/lodging arrangements and event materials.
- Collaborate in promoting key NCEJN events through organizational outreach efforts.
- Maintain event documents and provide on-site support.
Qualifications
- A commitment to environmental and social justice, racial equity, and intersectionality.
- Prior experience or relevant coursework in nonprofit operations or project management.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Zoom, JotForm, Google Docs, MS Office, GSuite) and a willingness to learn new platforms as needed
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative work style and adaptability to a remote work environment.
- Self-motivated and responsible, able to follow through on assigned tasks and communicate progress.
- A willingness to learn and grow within the role and be flexible to support evolving needs.
- Ability to travel to periodic in-person staff meetings or events, sometimes on weekends or during the evening, is required.
Salary/Benefits
The Operations Coordinator will be hired between $55,000 and $60,000. All NCEJN employees also receive the following annually:
