Michelle Allen

Bio

Michelle Allen manages Environmental Defense Fund’s advocacy and public policy initiatives in North Carolina, combining technical knowledge, strategic communications, and political acumen to deliver impactful results at all levels of government. Michelle collaborates with subject matter experts, policy makers, elected officials, and coalition partners to advance durable and equitable policy solutions aimed at driving out carbon pollution and making North Carolina communities more resilient to climate impacts. Michelle holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in environmental policy from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in Biology from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Outside of policy work, Michelle teaches yoga and enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her husband and dog.
