North Carolina Conservation Network solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its mission and that support its core programs as well as special projects that reflect current priorities and needs. In the course of its regular fundraising activities, NC Conservation Network generally will accept donations of money, intangible and tangible personal property, expertise, and time.
Certain types of gifts may be reviewed prior to being accepted because they may create liabilities or impose special obligations on NC Conservation Network. NC Conservation Network may elect to refuse gifts of cash, securities, real estate, or other items of value if such gifts are incompatible with NC Conservation Network’s mission or core values, or would create a financial or administrative burden. Gifts of publicly traded stock, bonds, or other securities will be liquidated as rapidly as possible.
The NC Conservation Network accepts support from corporations. However, to protect our integrity and the confidence of our other donors, we reserve the right to reject support which would establish a relationship with the potential to compromise our reputation, independence or effectiveness, establish a precedent that could be harmful to NC Conservation Network, or allow our name or logo to be used in a manner that suggests unintentional endorsement of a particular company or product.
NC Conservation Network encourages all prospective donors to seek the assistance of personal legal and financial advisors in matters relating to their gifts and the resulting tax and estate planning consequences. In addition, it will be the responsibility of the donor to secure an independent appraisal where required.
