The Sr Development Manager is responsible for supporting CleanAIRE NC’s fundraising and revenue development initiatives that sustain and grow the organization’s mission-driven work. This role focuses on donor engagement, grant coordination, partnership development, and fundraising operations.
Working collaboratively with the Deputy Director and cross-functional teams, the Sr Development Manager helps strengthen relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners while ensuring accurate tracking of fundraising activities and reporting. The position also supports membership engagement and revenue-generating initiatives that advance CleanAIRE NC’s programs and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities
The Sr Development Manager helps implement and manage fundraising activities that support CleanAIRE NC’s programs and organizational growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the cultivation and stewardship of individual donors, corporate partners, and foundation supporters.
- Assisting with preparation of grant proposals, donor communications, sponsorship packages, and fundraising materials.
- Managing donor and fundraising data through the organization’s CRM system to track engagement, contributions, and reporting needs.
- Coordinating annual giving campaigns, digital fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement activities.
- Monitoring fundraising performance metrics and preparing reports to inform leadership and strategic planning.
- Supporting membership engagement initiatives and sustaining donor relationships.
- Assisting with research and evaluation of new revenue opportunities and fundraising strategies.
- Collaborating with program and communications teams to align fundraising messaging with CleanAIRE NC’s mission and impact.
- Supporting fundraising events, donor meetings, and community engagement opportunities.
- Contributing to cross-department initiatives that strengthen relationships with supporters and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 3–6 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
- Experience supporting grant writing, donor communications, or fundraising campaigns.
- Familiarity with donor management or CRM systems (such as EveryAction or similar platforms).
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced nonprofit environment.
- Alignment with CleanAIRE NC’s mission and commitment to environmental and community health.
Work Environment
The Sr Development Manager works in a collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit environment and partners with staff across departments to support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement activities.
This role requires strong attention to detail, relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support fundraising events, donor meetings, or community engagement activities.
Local travel may occasionally be required for meetings or organizational events.

Salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience and organizational salary structure.
This position may require occasional evening or weekend work and limited travel.
